Address Bus

An address bus is a type of computer bus which is used to specificity a physical address. The memory addressing capability of  a CPU totally depends on the width of its address bus.  If a CPU has 8 address lines, it can directly address 28 = 32K memory locations.

Formula:  Addressing capability of a microprocessor = 2n bytes, where n is numbers of address lines.
